W/22/02754/OUT  Outline Permission - 3 Dwellings off Bablon Lane, Bishampton

Parish Council Response to the Planning Application - Objection

An application has been made for outline planning permission for 3 properties at the end of Babylon Lane between the ditch and Copperfields.  This will be on green field meadow/ paddock land thus extending the developed footprint of the village.

The application reference is  W/22/02754/OUT  and the case  officer is  Jay Singh     Link to the Application

The council is seeking an extension to the consultation end date (6/2/2023) to allow it to be discussed at the next council meeting.

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE WITH CONCERNS EXPLORE THE APPLICATION DETAILS AND CONSIDER COMMENTING (Objecting or supporting) - on the Wychavon Planning Portal.

New paragraph

W/23/00933/PIP  Land behind Nightingale Fields  - Permission in Principle

An application has been made by Hagley Homes for Permission in Principle for 2 dwellings - on the land between Nightingale Farm and Babylon Lane.
This land was previously the subject of applications for around 20 houses known as "The Firs" which was refused twice by the planning committee, a decision supported by the planning inspectors at appeal.

Despite this Hagley Homes are seeking permission for the same land hoping to exploit Wychavon's Land supply shortfall

Whilst the application is for two dwellings - it seems inevitable that if this is granted - this will then be increased.

The application reference is  W/23/00933/PIP  and the case  officer is  Gemma Smith     Link to the Application

The council is seeking an extension to the consultation end date (1/6/2023) to allow it to be discussed at the June council meeting.

It seems unlikely that this will reach the Planning Committee without significant public objections so we strongly recommend that ANYONE WITH CONCERNS EXPLORE THE APPLICATION DETAILS AND CONSIDER COMMENTING (Objecting or supporting) - on the Wychavon Planning Portal.

Valid concerns may include

·      Land is beyond the building line and developed boundary risking an infill “estate” behind both Main Street/Nightingale Fields and Babylon Lane,

·      Development of green/ agricultural land,

·      Too close to a working farm,

·      Land has repeatedly been deemed unsuitable, even at appeal,

·      This is a cynical use of the shortfall in Wychavon’s land supply to get round previous decisions of the committee and planning inspectors,

·      The lack of detail suggests plans are likely to be expanded.
