Improvement Projects - HAVE YOUR SAY!

We have the opportunity to invest some available development funds in improvement projects around the Parish.

Sums are not huge and we are strictly restricted in how they can be used, however we have identified a number of potential uses to which they could contribute.

We are interested in the views of the community and invite you to vote for your favourites.  We can then look at how we can best allocate/ share the available funds.

Voting form below - or drop your preferences on a slip of paper in one of the Views Boxes (Throckmorton Kiosk or Bishampton Shop).

1) Nature Reserve
Proposed enhancements include improvements to access and paths, display information and also wildlife habitat eg bat and bird boxes.

2) Shorthorn Wood
Materials for improvements to the paths through this lovely rural amenity and wildlife habitat.

3) Path and access to Villages Hall
The sloping path in front of the village hall can be a little difficult, especially for those with impaired mobility.  Whilst resurfacing may be a part solutions it has been suggested that a handrail could be helpful, Thought is also being given to a gateway at the top.
4) Dog Friendly Stiles
Some of our residents find it difficult to navigate the stiles on some of our footpaths, especially with large or heavy dogs.  There are a number of "Dog Friendly" stiles which our footpath team know of which could be introduced in some of the more popular paths.
5) Noticeboard Improvements
We had a suggestion about improving or adding to our public noticeboards to allow more space for information.
We currently have boards in Bishampton, Throckmorton and Tilesford  plus in some amenities such as the Nature reserve and Shorthorn wood
 4) Additional VAS sign
We now have 2 permanent signs in Bishampton and 2 in Throckmorton, plus a shared one which on alternate months goes on Main Street (south) in Bishampton.
Whilst this is well above the average for a parish of our size, there have been some calls for an additional permanent sign on Main Street, in place of the movable one.
7) Bus shelter (Tilesford)
Whilst this is likely to be outside current funding and may also require discussions with landowners - we wanted to include it to judge the level of support it might have.
There is a scheduled stop at Tilesford by the entrance to Willow Bank - but no protection for people waiting.
