About the Parish

Our parish consists of Bishampton, Throckmorton and Tilesford and lies between Pershore, Evesham and Worcester. Currently, there are approximately 370 homes, of mixed style constructed from the 1600s to contemporary builds. St James’ Church is situated in Bishampton and Throckmorton and Tilesford share the chapelry.

The Parish Council is unusual in that it owns The Dolphin public house, the Bishampton village shop and the flat above, on behalf of the community. The step of acquiring these properties was to protect them from being purchased for development and to protect these important community amenities for future generations.  The council let the properties to private tenants to maintain the services to the community.

Places of interest include the Nature Reserve, War Memorial and nearby cricket pitch all complimented by beautiful countryside walks. Further amenities include the Bishampton and Villages Hall with 2 separate play areas, one for under 10s and one for older children; a golf course; a hair salon and a Christmas tree farm with reindeer to visit.

The small village of Throckmorton houses a village Hall, and a historic airfield which showcases various public events. Tilesford consists mainly of houses built for servicemen during the War as well as a care home for the elderly.
Images of the villages can be seen on the Gallery page.
